  • Couldn't be better

    Current happenings:

    1.  My mini cooper broke down last week on my way to work.  You all would have been so proud of me investigating under the hood!  Unfortunately, it had to be towed and I am still without it.  Blaine is traveling (Ft. Lauderdale, lucky!) with a rental for work, so I have been using his truck.  Yeah, sounds like a great thing, but I suck at driving a stick, especially in stop-and-go Atlanta traffic.  It's like driving a tractor, compared to my precious mini cooper.

    2.  Cousins is starting to play more shows and we are improving with each one.  Rehearsals are up to twice per week and I am learning loads.  Hope to start recording my stuff soon.  Need $ to buy an interface first.  :(

    3.  Summer in Atlanta is wonderful this year for two reasons:  1. Living in the Virginia Highlands...the best place to live in the ATL, period.  2. My precious pooch...I can't believe how attached I am to him.  I love him so much, I am convinced that there is no love left for my unborn children.  Sounds tragic, but we'll see.

    4.  Blaine and I (and Baby Duke) will be heading to Indiana for his sister's wedding in early August and plan to spend some QT with family and friends in both Connersville and Warsaw.  Let me know if you want to hang.  I believe Spike's is definitely in order (no Susie's Sandbar, sorry Mel).

Hope everyone is doing well.  Take care!

  • New Happenings

Life is busy and grand.  We recently moved to an amazing part of the city, the most sought-after part for young folk like ourselves.  We are renting the basement of a huge bungalow just a block or two away from the best bars, resturants and shopping.  We have our own deck and a fenced in back yard for precious baby Duke.  Here he is with Becky:

I recently joined an Indy Folk band.  We are somewhat similar to Iron & Wine or David Rawlings and Gillian Welch.  I'm learning to play the mandolin.  We should hopefully start playing shows around the area in early 2009.
